Gertrude, a 3.5 year old sifaka living in NHE 3 with her mom, Pia and her (Pia’s) new Beau, Pontius, has a predicament. She wants to feed on the fresh, lush lespedeza growing along the fence which marks the edge of NHE 3, but she doesn’t want to get her feet wet, or risk coming in contact with ticks, chiggers or other creepy crawlies. So she engages in a little “fence feeding” keeping her feet clean and dry and the pests at bay!
