Nefertiti was among the first group of crowned lemurs (Eulemur coronatus) to be brought to the DLC. She was born at the Cologne Zoo in 1977, imported to the DLC in 1978, lived to be 25 years old, and gave birth to 13 surviving infants, 9 of which lived to at least 20 years of age.
