DLC free ranging lemurs (53 strong!) have been enjoying a rare winter break; mild temperatures have allowed the animals to roam in their forested enclosures since Sunday. Everyone has to come in tonight due to temps in the 30s, but for at least the next seven days afterwards it looks like full speed ahead for free ranging! Not surprisingly, the free rangers, especially the youngsters, have been having a blast in the forest. Yesterday, nearly ten month old sisters Hedwig and Griselda were playing nonstop in NHE 4 for nearly an hour as our intrepid DLC photographer tried in vain to capture their frantic chases and wild wrestling matches (at one point a concerned Hedwig checked to make sure he was okay!). A mere 15 yards away on the other side of the fence, Nemesis and Narcissa (also born last Spring), were engaged in equally hard play in NHE 2.
